Accessibility

How the StillDeep website follows WCAG 2.2 level AA, what is known to be missing and how to report a barrier.

Our target

This site aims at the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.

What the site does

  • Every page works without JavaScript, except the AI chat, the Copy button and the theme buttons, which are optional extras.
  • Keyboard navigation everywhere, a visible focus and a link to skip to the content.
  • Real headings, landmarks and labels on every form field, with errors announced next to the field.
  • Contrast of the light and dark themes chosen from the StillDeep palette, and text that can be enlarged to 200%.
  • Animations reduced when the system asks for it; nothing moving hides content.
  • Code blocks that scroll can be reached and scrolled with the keyboard.
  • Every page in French and in English, with the language declared to screen readers.

How it is checked

Every page goes through axe-core 4.14 with the WCAG 2.2 level AA rules, target size included, in the light and dark themes, at desktop and phone widths, before each release. Automated tools catch only part of the barriers, so keyboard and screen reader checks complete them.

Known limits

The site has not yet been audited by an outside expert. The AI chat answers are written by an AI and may contain mistakes.
